Today's Yatzy challenge

Every player in the world is rolling the exact same Yatzy dice today (July 21, 2026). Yatzy is the public-domain dice game every Scandinavian grows up with - the same five-dice, three-roll engine as Yahtzee, but a friendlier and in places trickier scorecard of fifteen categories. This variant is rated Easy, and a good game scores 200+; the maximum with the bonus is 374 - so a good daily result is as much about smart scorecard choices as hot dice.

Today's tip: The 50-point bonus dwarfs everything else on the card - Chase 63 upper points with the same discipline Yahtzee players give their 35. For the full playbook, see the Yatzy strategy guide.

How the daily challenge works

The daily challenge turns a solo game into a shared one. Everyone in the world gets the exact same dice stream, built from today's date - so your score isn't just big, it's big on the same rolls everyone else is playing. Here's the short version:

  1. A fresh dice stream is generated at midnight UTC and is identical for every player.
  2. Finish your scorecard and your score is ranked against everyone who played the same challenge.
  3. Come back tomorrow for brand-new dice - miss a day and that challenge is gone for good.
  4. Signed-in players keep a permanent name and build a streak; guests can post a display name too.

Tips for a big daily score

  • Chase the upper bonus from turn one - since everyone shares the dice, the winners are the ones who route them best.
  • Plan your zeros - sacrificing Ones to protect a 40-point row is always the right trade.
  • Don't zero the big rows early - a protected Yahtzee row can swing the whole daily board.
  • Warm up on a regular game first: try Yatzy or read the rules.

Daily challenge FAQ

How are the daily dice chosen?

They are generated automatically from today's date, so every player in the world starts from the exact same dice stream. Nobody gets luckier rolls.

When does the daily challenge reset?

A brand-new set of dice appears at midnight UTC. Once a day passes, that challenge is gone for good, which is what makes a streak worth protecting.

Do I need an account for the daily challenge?

No. You can play and post a score as a guest. Signing in with a free account keeps a permanent name and builds your streak across devices.

How are daily results ranked?

Only completed scorecards count, and results are ranked by final score - highest first - with ties broken toward the faster finish, so decisive play beats dithering.
